TreeTOP Rocks

Treetop Rocks is a Social Enterprise that reaches high in all that we do! We offer unique Tree Climbing experiences in forests and parks in and around Glasgow, and through connecting enjoyment to trees, we hope to encourage children to develop a love and respect for forest ecosystems.  Our fun, confidence-building sessions are available to individuals and families to book through our website, but we are also able to provide group sessions for schools, community groups, and employers on request. As a Community Interest Company, we invest our profits to help Disadvantaged Children & Young People develop their skills, gain confidence, and increase their attainment. Although we are primarily a Tree Climbing Company, we also provide Outdoor Rock Climbing for our clients on request, either as one-off experience or a structured course.

Tree Climbing

Our tree climbing events include general public sessions from age 6+, special occasions such as birthday parties or pre-wedding shindigs, private family bookings, and community fun-days. We also work with organisations such as youth groups and schools, as well as offering team-building events for staff in the corporate and voluntary sector.

Rock Climbing

Our standard outdoor rock climbing sessions take place over one day and are suitable for everyone, from children aged 4+ to adults. The course is designed for a beginner or novice, however we are able to facilitate skills improvement sessions for other abilities on request. If work or study means an indoor session is more practical, we can also teach you at one of Glasgow’s climbing walls.

ETHICAL BUSINESS AND HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

At Treetop Rocks ethical business and healthy communities are the roots of our tree, which is why we have chosen to be a Community Interest Company. We use our profits to offer disadvantaged children and young people the chance to participate in one of our free 4-week courses designed to engender confidence, encourage team-building and promote healthy lifestyle choices.

We are proud to be the recipient of a Firstport Start It Award, which provides start-up funding for individuals with a business idea that addresses a social, environmental, and/or community issue.

CLIMBING FOR SCHOOLS

We are delighted to work with local schools to provide Covid-secure Recreational Tree Climbing activities for students, either on school grounds or in a nearby park or woodland. With restrictions limiting the types of extra-curricular activities available to schools, we hope to help teachers fulfil the needs of students to access outdoor learning through sessions which combine fun, skills, and confidence-builing.

CLIMBING FOR COMMUNITY GROUPS & EMPLOYERS

We offer sessions for community groups, whether these are youth-oriented such as Scouts or Guides, or adults with a broad spectrum of needs. We also host excellent staff team-building events, which are tailored to the goals of your organisation.  Whatever your requirements, please get in touch to see how we can work with you to provide secure, confidence building sessions which focus on the individual needs of you or your clients.

CLIMBING FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES

If you would like to book a tree climbing session for a birthday party, please get in touch with us to let us know how many children will attend. We are able to accommodate up to 10 climbers for a party and for the standard cost of a general public climbing session we will include birthday invitations, a tree-themed gift for the birthday child, and Certificates of Completion for all attendees. Feel free to bring your own party food and cake to continue celebrating nearby after your climb is over and if it rains we will give you the use of our marquee to shelter your birthday bit and pieces under!

CLIMBING FOR ADULT FITNESS

Tree Climbing is an extremely potent work out for adults due to the increased body weight and the strength required to support that body weight along a rope. We already work in partnership with Krav Maga, a local martial arts club who use us for training, and feedback from their members reiterates the intense core-workout of a fully engaged tree-climbing session. However the ability to take frequent breaks as the system supports your weight means that even adults who have no prior fitness training can take it slow and successfully climb. So, if you are already at a high level of fitness, we think you’ll be surprised at how much benefit you will get from a tree climbing session. And if you are at the beginning of your fitness journey, we can support you to develop a new workout in an environment of natural beauty.

CLIMBING AS A GIFT

Give someone the gift of joy with our Treetop Rocks gift vouchers that can be sent either as an email or in the post. We will personalise your vouchers with a bespoke design, for any special or festive occasion, and as there is no expiry date, the recipient can use them when the time is right. Vouchers come in denominations of £25 which is the cost of a hour-long climbing lesson during one of our General Public weekend sessions. Please contact us to order your vouchers, telling us the quantity, the postal or email address of the recipient for the vouchers to be sent, the celebration or festive occasion we should reflect, and your email address for the invoice..

My son had his birthday party in the trees today with his friends and loved every minute.. Vicki Lyon

I went to a farm for Treetop Rocks tree climbing. I had fun. I was a bit nervous but once I had the harness on I felt safe. I really liked getting to the top and being in the branches. That was brilliant! Graeme’s teaching was good because he told me exactly how to do it properly. Once I was high up I could see across the field to the horses which was cool. It was fun and I would definitely go again.

Miho Sharp age 11

Thank you for such an amazing experience. Our girls had the best time and it was lovely to watch them learn a new skill, take risks and have fun all at the same time. The teaching, care and safety of it all was so evident and the whole experience was amazing to watch. Our girls are definitely coming back and I wanted to personally thank you for providing such an awesome, positive experience in such a bizarre time. They thought you were all fab and were absolutely buzzing with pride, Adrenalin and achievement when they came back down.

We climbed this morning and had the best fun!!!!!! My boys are 11 and 6 and none of us had ever done anything like this and it was fab! Fibie, Graeme and Sean are really relaxed and friendly and put you right at ease…..even a nervous mum like me ended up climbing higher than I expected to. Fibie explained everything really well and made everyone feel great! We will definitely be back again!!!!! Amazing experience!!!!

We had such a fabulous experience today with my boys ages 6,7 and their friend who was 7. Really thorough instruction, fabulous set up & a great team who the boys loved. They were delighted to get so high. It even started to pour & we didn’t feel anything. Really great day out, book it if you can.
