TreeTOP Rocks

Treetop Rocks is a Social Enterprise that reaches high in all that we do. We offer Recreational Tree Climbing and Outdoor Rock Climbing for children and adults in Scotland’s beautiful wild spaces. We also provide evening and off-season opportunities to climb indoors at local walls. Some of our tree climbing sessions include additional activities designed to foster a love and respect for forest ecosystems. And finally, as a Community Interest Company, all our profits are reinvested into helping disadvantaged children and young people develop their skills and gain self confidence.

Tree Climbing

Our tree climbing events include general public sessions from age 6+, special occasions such as birthday parties or pre-wedding shindigs, private family bookings, and community fun-days. We also work with organisations such as youth groups and schools, as well as offering team-building events for staff in the corporate and voluntary sector.

Rock Climbing

Our standard outdoor rock climbing sessions take place over one day and are suitable for everyone, from children aged 4+ to adults. The course is designed for a beginner or novice, however we are able to facilitate skills improvement sessions for other abilities on request. If work or study means an indoor session is more practical, we can also teach you at one of Glasgow’s climbing walls.

DEVELOP A LOVE FOR TREES & FORESTS

We believe tree climbing is so much more than just a physical activity which is why we have developed our Under-the-Canopy sessions aimed at children age 10 and under. These optional sessions last an extra 30 minutes and include activities such as art, crafts and stories to help your wee ones appreciate trees and woodlands.

CLIMBING WITH YOUR FRIENDS & FAMILY

Both our tree climbing and outdoor rock climbing sessions can be booked as a group package, enabling you to climb with your partner, siblings, children or friends.

CLIMBING FOR BIRTHDAY PARTIES, COMMUNITY GROUPS, SCHOOLS AND STAFF TEAM BUILDING

The booking page reflects our general public events. However we are also able to accommodate birthday parties, community groups, schools, and staff team-building days. For these types of event, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Additionally, if you would like to climb in any other way or time not specified on our bookings page, for example practising outdoor rock climbing over a number of sessions, please contact us and we do our best to accommodate you.

ETHICAL BUSINESS AND HEALTHY COMMUNITIES

At Treetop Rocks ethical business and healthy communities are the roots of our tree, which is why we have chosen to be a Community Interest Company. We use our profits to offer disadvantaged children and young people the chance to participate in one of our free 4-week courses designed to engender confidence, encourage team-building and promote healthy lifestyle choices.

We are proud to be the recipient of a Firstport Start It Award, which provides start-up funding for individuals with a business idea that addresses a social, environmental, and/or community issue.

Those of you who know me will know I have a phobia of heights. This week, Graeme and Fibie from Babble Rock took on the unenviable task of teaching me to climb in preparation for an event in March. Fibie and Graeme, I can’t thank you enough for your enthusiasm and words of encouragement when I warned you that I was going to be a challenging case. The patience you showed and, the reassurance you gave when I wrestled with my anxieties and wouldn’t let go of the holds. My goal was to climb 4m but within 20 mins you had me scaling the full wall! What an awesome team you make and I’m looking forward to joining you on your future climbing adventures!

A couple of weeks ago I had taken my boys (4 and 7) to Clip and Climb at Kelvin Hall and watched in awe as they scaled the walls seemingly fearless. Feeling inspired I took the plunge and got in touch with Fibie and Graeme. On Mon night we met at Climbzone at Braehead for my first climbing session. It was absolutely amazing, petrifying and exhilarating all rolled into one! Safe to say I loved it! Fibie and Graeme were so friendly as were the rest of the climbing group. I was made to feel at ease immediately. They were so patient and supportive as I learned the basics. Some great handy hints and tricks along the way which really helped me to get started. Their encouragement and fantastic teaching saw me reach the top of the wall on my first session – something I thought I would never do! I was absolutely thrilled and came away with a great sense of achievement after what was a fantastic night.  Thanks so much

I went to a farm for Treetop Rocks tree climbing. I had fun. I was a bit nervous but once I had the harness on I felt safe. I really liked getting to the top and being in the branches. That was brilliant! Graeme’s teaching was good because he told me exactly how to do it properly. Once I was high up I could see across the field to the horses which was cool. It was fun and I would definitely go again.
